Three Weeks

I'm only three weeks away from my trip. I have all of the money turned into the organization that I owe. I also have all of my supply list covered by amazing people that have offered to buy things for me! I have all of my shots and medications that I needed to get. All of my paperwork is turned in. I do have to buy a new ticket back home from Georgia b/c our international flight is coming in a day later than originally planned. Now it's just time to start getting everything together to pack and making sure I have everything that I need.

Please continue to pray for the upcoming mission opportunites, the people in Kenya, and our team as we prepare to leave.

Garage Sale

I am horrible at keeping this thing updated...I am sorry! But with school, work, my internship, and church I am very busy these days.

Friday (April 10) and Saturday (11) I will be having my last fundrasier. I am having a huge yard sale at my parents house. We have gotten lots of donations from people from church. We have everything from clothes, toys, books, and furniture. I kind of forgot to put it in the paper so I hope lots of people still come and I can get the money I need for my planeticket to Georgia.

I am currently working on getting all of my paperwork for my internship completed since this mission trip will count as the last 100 hours I need in order to graduate.

I am also trying to get all of the paperwork filled out that I still need to turn into AIM.

Less than 2 months away...I am so excited!!

Inspired

I canceled the Sadie Hawkins Dance that was set for next weekend. There were a lot of scheduling conflicts and I thought a lot of people would not be able to come. I decided that I did not want to risk losing money, so I just canceled it.


This past week I have been greatly inspired about my trip. It really cannot come soon enough! During this past week, AIM contacted me and simply asked how they could be praying for me this week. They prayed with me over the phone and took my prayer requests to their weekly meeting for further prayer over me. Then on Friday I showed up to work and Lois had left me a booklet on Africa she got in the mail. There was an article full of pictures on Nairobi and the work going on there. I cut out the pictures and hung them on my wall to remind me of where I will be serving the Lord. I am so excited for my trip and don't think that the end of May can get here fast enough!

Almost There

My auction and dinner went extremely well. I raised around $3,100 in total. I was very blown away by the number of people there, the donations made, and how the auction went. Thank you to everyone invovled in anyway!

Just as an update...I only need to raise around $500 more dollars to go to AIM. Anything after that will help me get to Georgia for training and to buy the supplies needed for the trip.

I am doing a horrible job of updating this thing! I think it will be a lot easier when I am closer to leaving...maybe! Thank you to everyone who has donated money so far and for the prayers. Getting Started

So I finally got my support letter approved and the stuff back from AIM that I needed to include in my support letters. I spent all Sunday afternoon printing, folding, and stuffing envelopes with the wonderful help of my mom! I got most of my support letters sent out. I am still trying to find addresses for some people.

I am working on a letter for businesses for my silent auction. I am planning on trying to go around next week to get the ball rolling on finding donations for that. My dinner/silent auction will be November 22 at Gum Springs Baptist Church, so mark your calenders. I am going to be sending out offical invitations to everyone when the time gets closer.

Africa here I come!

I was offically accepted to go on the trip to Kenya today!! I am SOOOOOOO EXCITED!! Now I have to start planning out all my fundraisers and sending out my support letters. I am going to have a Saide Hawkins Dance in November and a Silent Auction/Dinner sometime after the new year. If anyone has any ideas for any fundraisers please let me know!
